Data Centre World 2025 in Frankfurt: A look back at two eventful days in the world of data centers

Data Centre World 2025
Two days, numerous expert discussions, and intensive insights into the future of digital infrastructure: At June 4 and 5, 2025 brought the Data Centre World Frankfurt brings together operators, technology providers, and experts once again. Daterra (formerly FM Service) was present for the second time with their own booth and used the trade fair for intensive discussions on current developments, new projects, and key infrastructural topics related to the planning, construction, and modernization of data centers.

A meeting point for the data center industry in Frankfurt

Data Centre World Frankfurt has impressively reaffirmed its status as the most important trade fair for data centers in the DACH region in 2025. In the heart of Europe's data hub, Frankfurt, decision-makers and innovators met at the Messe Frankfurt venue to set the course for tomorrow's digital sovereignty.

Our team was at the trade fair for both days Stand L140 in Hall 8 is in constant use and has used the platform to enhance our role as General contractor and general planner to make accessible for data centers. In intensive dialogues with customers, partners, and industry players, a clear trend emerged: to implement projects at the necessary speed, operators need not just service providers, but partners who actively manage the entire interface between specialist planners, approval authorities, and trades, thereby preventing friction losses during construction. With our many years of experience and our diverse partner network, we find the right solution for every requirement.

Key themes of the trade show discussions

The trade fair made it clear in 2025 that the requirements for digital infrastructure are changing fundamentally: Away from isolated individual trades, towards high-performance overall systems that have to withstand both ecological and economic pressure. Three focal points emerged from the technical discussions at the stand:

Holistic services across the entire lifecycle

The industry is increasingly demanding end-to-end solutions. This is where we were able to play to our strengths as a general contractor, as we support projects from initial site acquisition and building law review through to architecture, technical execution, and later modernization. Customers particularly value having engineering expertise and building law competence combined from a single source.

Increasing efficiency and modernizing existing infrastructure

The modernization of existing data center locations was one of the defining themes of the 2025 trade fair. At Daterra (formerly FM Service), the focus is on specific technical measures aimed at more efficient use of existing infrastructure.

Scalable data center infrastructure

With the rapid increase in computing power requirements, driven by AI applications, scalable designs have come into focus. We discussed modular solutions with partners that can flexibly grow—for example, by incrementally expanding battery systems or increasing DC power supplies to ensure redundancy and fault tolerance at all times.

Exchange, Networking, and New Ideas

In addition to technological innovations, the focus was on human networking. The trade fair provided the ideal framework for obtaining feedback from the industry and consolidating existing partnerships. Face-to-face meetings remain the foundation for building the necessary trust for projects with demanding security requirements.

„Data Centre World Frankfurt is a highlight for us every year. The personal dialogue with customers, partners and industry colleagues provides valuable insights into current developments and shows which requirements will shape future data center projects.“
